About

I am an American working on a USAID-funded project in Jordan.  My goal is to help a business organization try to become self-sufficient.

Regarding the title, I am borrowing the word oikos, meaning home, from a whole slew of other blogs with a same word in their title.  Not surprisingly, econ bloggers have limited creativity when it comes to coming up with catchy names, and sadly I am no exception.  But since this blog will mainly be about economics, and my current home abroad, Amman, I thought it an apt description of the things I find most interesting at the moment.   I can only hope that all three of the people who end up stumbling on to this blog share the same sentiment.
